We welcome artists and fellow creatives from many genres. Only the artist selected will be able to occupy the 1903 Suites during their stay. Exceptions are made for certain bloggers and photographer duos. Applications will be reviewed by a rotating panel of judges. Previous artists can nominate an artist.

You will have the opportunity to pick from various projects at 1903 Suites or propose your own. Selected artists will receive a 4-12 day stay at the 1903 Suites. Artist will only be responsible for paying a non-refundable cleaning fee of $85 prior to arrival. If you have to cancel, your cleaning fee will be refunded. A refundable damage deposit will be required a week prior to arrival. Damage deposit will be returned after inspection within 7 days of checkout.

Applications are currently accepted on a rolling basis. Stays are subject to availability. Selected artists will be provided multiple dates to choose from.

1903 suites is located in Southeast Portland, Oregon. Enjoy peaceful walks through Ladd’s addition where rose gardens and camila delight the senses. Treat yourself to one of the many James Beard awarded restaurants or the food cart pods recently featured on Top Chef. Artists are responsible for their own transportation to 1903 Suites and while they are in Portland.

As a fellow creative, I have struggled with the paralyzing effects of perfectionism, maybe you have experienced this as well. In these challenging times I wanted to create a reprieve for creatives to be able get out of their homes and reset. We need art now more than ever.
